I agree with the 'healthy pool' concept as I've seen some bad water that I can't believe people swim in. I've actually switched to using bleach instead of chlorine tablets to maintain my pool and I've seen a noticeable difference in how clean it was last year (not to mention it was way cheaper to maintain.) Something for others to consider I guess. Thanks!

Thank you for the test strips! Unfortunately I did exactly what Tim suggested. After a couple of days of seemingly high chlorine. I used a test strip. It showed 10 ppm chlorine. I alerted the lifeguard who quickly told me that he has nothing to do with chlorine. He only watches the pool. As I tried to explain that this could be dangerous, he only said that he was unable to do anything.
I spoke to the pool supervisor who said that the pool was checked earlier to be only 3 ppm chlorine. I asked why would the test strip be so different. He suggested that I write a complaint. I tried to explain that it could be a hazard, but got no where.
Both the lifeguard and the supervisor wrote me up as harassing them. No foul language or raised voices were used. The pool management sat me down and said that if I continued this behavior, my membership privileges would be revoked!
So much for trying to keep a healthy pool.....

Sorry for the delay--we had a tremendous response to the test kit offer. The kits are being mailed. Thank you for your interest in Healthy Pools!
